Personal profile

I was born in Rome (Italy) in 1978. I studied in Rome at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", Computer Science, from 1997 to 2002. Then I started my PhD in Computer Science working on Real Time and embedded systems; I went to the Los Alamos National Laboratory as Graduate Student from April 2004 to June 2005, working on High Performance Computing.

I've got my PhD in May 2006 and then I moved to the Barcelona Supercomputing Center as Senior Resercher in late 2006; at BSC I worked on Operating System (mainly Linux) for High Performance Computing Clusters and optimization for future processor architectures. In 2007 I also joined the Computer Architecture department of the Polytechnic University of Catalugna, in Barcelona as well.

In September 2008 I moved to IBM TJ Watson, New York, research center, in the BlueGene group, where I'm working on the Operating System for next generation of supercomputers. Since 2006 I've also been an external collaborator of the System Programming Research Group at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata".

Reseach interests

My research interests are operating systems, high performance computing, large parallel clusters, real-time embedded systems, processor architectures and network cards.
